To get started with Apple CarPlay, simply plug in your iPhone to the USB port. If you have an Android smartphone, you'll have to take a look at our next
blog post on how to use Android Auto in your Chevrolet vehicle. Apple CarPlay may launch automatically when you plug your iPhone into the USB port but, if
not, press the Apple CarPlay icon on the Home page on the infotainment screen and this will take you to the CarPlay home screen. Your phone can still be
used by a passenger to use other functions while it is plugged into the USB port for CarPlay. To activate voice commands/Siri, you can take several
Press and hold the voice command or phone button on either the steering wheel or the buttons located directly below the infotainment display
Press and hold the "HOME" button on the lower left corner of the screen while in the Apple CarPlay home screen
Launch the Apple CarPlay "Phone" or "Messages" app
Once you've activated Siri with CarPlay, you can use any of the several useful features/apps available, including:
Maps. You can get turn-by-turn directions, traffic conditions and estimated travel time right on the infotainment display screen.
Messages. Siri4 can send, read and reply to text messages on your phone. Never worry about texting and driving again!
Phone. You can make calls, return missed calls and listen to voicemails using CarPlay, thanks to Siri.
Music. Play whatever artist, song, playlist or iTunes Radio station you're feeling using your car's controls or ask Siri to play them for you.
Whichever you prefer.
3rd Party Apps. CarPlay can also allow you to use other apps you've downloaded on your iPhone.
